Benjamin Koppenhaffer was born and reared in Mifflin township, in the Lykens Valley. On Jan. 1, 1854, he married Susan Witmer, d/o Michael Witmer. Children; Catharine, married Isaac Snyder, Anne, married Daniel Snyder, Matilda married Philip Zerbe, and 2nd to Philip Updergrove, Emma married Daniel Snyder, (no relation to others) John, Isaac, Benneville, William, Jacob.
Rebuck, Joel, son of Daniel, was born Sept 8, 1845. He married Amanda Lahr, d/o Elias and Polly (Snyder) Lahr, of Herndon, PA. Children; Ida, who marred Frank Klock, 2nd to William Reitz, Emma who married Roy Snyder, Daniel, William E., Agnes, who married Anthony Heath, Gertie, whho married Daniel Dubendorf, a son that died in infancy, and Charles.
Snyder of Northumberland County
I. Casper Snyder, the pioneer of Northumberland county, came from Germany. He married Elizabeth Farst and they are buried in River cemetery. According to records he was born May 2, 1745, and died Sept 3, 1821, Elizabeth, was born Feb 5, 1754 and died Aug 12, 1823. Children; John, 1776-1851; Polly, 1782-1856, married a Mr. Updergrph, and had ( Issac, Thomas, Adam, Sarah. of these Adam went to look after the vast fortune due to the Snyders as heir to the brother of Elizabeth Farst in Holland, but the connection was lost and he no proof to establish the claim) 3. Peter, 1788-1866, 4. Sarah, married John Hendershot, and died Feb 23, 1863, they had children ( Eliza, who married David Shipman, brother of David; Lydia, who married Christian Fischer; Jane, who married John Jones: Mary Anne, who married Chambers Wynn, Isaac and Hirman); 5. George, 1785-1812; 6. Casper; 7, Catharine, married William Silverwood.
