I was told by my father Charles Joseph Snyder that his father Charles Albert Snyder changed his name during the War from Schneider to Snyder. I don't know if this is true. Does anyone out there know. My grandfather Charles Albert Snyder was born in Dexter, Kansas. He married Mary L. Piatt. They had 9 children: Charles Joseph Snyder (my father b: 1908 and he married my mother Bertha Amanda Rasmussen), Robert, Wilson, Paul, Marion, Hazel, Evelyn, Florence, Grace.
