My Schneiders lived on the Lower East side, beginning around 1863. Condensed Tree: John Schneider, NYPD officer, born 10/26/1905. His father was Lucius Wilhem Schneider, born 9/26/1880. Lucius' father was Ludwig (changed to Louis) Schneider,a grocer who died on 1/14/1896 and had become a citizen in 1875. Ludwig's father was Andrew Schneider, who was definately born in Germany.

John Schneider is my Great GrandFather. Feel free to write. I have documents.
