Thanks for responding so quickly! My John Frederick Schneider was my great-grandfather. He was married to Emma (or perhaps Lillian Emma) Jackson. Their daughter Emma married Daniel F. Seiler who was my paternal grandfather. So it appears we're not related after all. I know that John Frederick came from Germany but so far have been unable to find any solid information as to dates of birth, emigration, etc. Thanks again for your note.
