In researching the Schrank family I have found a document permitting a karl august schrank son of joseph and anna maria schrank of baden wurttemberg the town of sincheim germany allowing him to visit the us for a period of one year. It lists balltimore as the city and is date march 1846. I am striiving to find him arriving in the US. His paper was in the bible of what I think iis my great grandfather bible. For some reason or another many changed the name to schrunk, shrunk, shrank. My first info in the us is the marriage of a charles shrunk in 1855. The family bible them lists his children as shrank until my grandfathr who was listed as schrank. I think that there is some relationship since karl is german for charles. Most of my family cme from the wyoming valley area (wilkes barre scranton) Pa.
This may be of some help to you, and I would like to hear from you on what you have. I have a wholelist of names and daaate of charles family if you think it might be of some help. Happy hunting Joseph
