Good to see your posting. If I understand you correctly, you maintain that you descend from the Moscheler Schucks. They are also my family; I posted a message to that effect here at theSchuck Family Forum some time ago and thus am a little surprised that you didn't respond to it instead. Be that as it may, yes, I've been in written communication off and on with Erika Schuck for years; she's very nice. I'm surprised that you didn't run into Karl Schuck as well whilst you were in Obermoschel. He and his son, Martin, who now lives in Zweibrücken escorted me through das Schuck'sche Haus when I was there in 1970, long before the beautiful renovation which you saw.
But to your issue at hand, I've been unaware heretofore of any Moscheler Schucks having specifically migrated to IL. Beyond my own great-grandfather, Philip Jakob Schuck, who came to St. Louis in the late 1860s, I've known definitely of only one other arrival in the States from Obermoschel, namely, a cousin of his named Peter Schuck who came in the 1850s. Your case is very intriguing, and I would like to learn more about it in detail. As I indicated in my aforementioned posting, I have considerable information concerning several lines of Moscheler Schucks which I'm perfectly willing to share. E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let's discuss all this at length.
