Hello,

I am five generations removed from a Luisa Schuck that lived in Ponce, PR. She married a Pedro Juan Salazar Fournier and had two children, Ermelindo and Pedro Juan. I am not clear on how this would tie into your geneology, but perhaps Luisa was Phillip's sister.

You might have already visited this but there is a museum in Ponce, Casa Salazar, that I believe has preserved some of this family history along with a general history of Ponce. The house was built by Luisa's grandson Guillermo (Guillermo being Ermelindo's son). I haven't visited the museum since I was a girl, but it may have some valuable information for you. I am descended from Guillermo's son Andres.

It is very interesting to hear your family story, our family lore is not very substantial but is a little different. I have been told that Luisa was the daughter of a Swedish admiral in the napoleonic wars, and that he brought his family to live in the Caribbean afterwards, either to retire or make his fortune. There has been some argument as to whether the family was Norwegian or Swedish, and so it seems possible that they were of the same family.

That's all the information I have at this point, good luck.

Sincerely,
Gabi Salazar
