Johann Michael Schüßler (b. 6Nov1794), his wife Johanna Rosina (b. 21Jan1830) and their children left Langenchursdorf, Saxony, on September 14, 1839, and settled in Perry County, Missouri. Johann Michael was
born in Meinsdorf. The Schüßlers, for at least six generations prior to his birth, had lived in Meinsdorf. Langenchursdorf and Meinsdorf are in Saxony near Zwickau and Chemnitz. Today these small villages have joined with the neighboring villages of Callenberg, Langerberg, Falken, Grumbach and Reichenbach to create a single town named Callenberg.
The Schuessler ancestors are from Johann Michael to Abraham (b. 1753), Jacob (b. 1711), Georg (b. 1681), Gregor b. unknown), Jacob (b. abt. 1594) & Gregor (b. abt.1565).
Michael Heinrich Schuessler (b. 31Aug1849) was my GGrandfather. Michael Heinrich had four brothers, Carl Gottlob (b. 1834), Johann Gottfried (b. 1835), Johann Gottlieb (b. 1840) and Friedrich Gotthilf (b. 1845). I don't know much about Friedrich Gotthilf's family and nothing about Johann Gottlieb's family. I have an extensive amount of descendant information on the other three families.
There were also at least 7 sisters, Johanna Christiane (b.1830, d. 1832), Wilhelmine (b. 1832, m. Grosse 1850),
Theresie (b. 1837, m. Petzold 1854, m. Schilling 1858), Johanne Christiane (b. 1838, m. Burkhardt 1855), Elisabeth (b. 1842, m. Burfeind 1862) and Maria Magdalena (b. 1847, m. Pfannkuchen 1870). I have at least some descendant information on all of these families.
