Boy that would be wonderful. But I have not been able to find out any more information than I have. My g-grandmother was born Bertha Schulke on July 4, 1864. I have a ship record of a Bertha coming to America at age 17. She married in Chicago to John Mertens (he appears to have arrived in the US via the Star Ship Enterprise ;-)). On Bertha's death certificate it says her father was Karl from West Preusen (Posin) Germany. If you can make any connection it would be grand. She supposedly had a sister that may have been a twin.
