Franz Schuller from Germany? (1733)

Hello everyone,

I am looking for information on the birthplace and ancestors of Franz Schuller who traveled to America in 1733 on board the "Richard & Elizabeth," which dropped off its passengers on September 28, 1733 in Philadelphia, PA. (Records say that the ship had left Europe from Rotterdam.) Many of the passengers were from Alsace (although that is no guarantee that Franz was from there).

Franz was married to a woman named Maria who was with him on the ship. He is listed as being aged 44 and Maria is listed as being 47. Franz died in Berks County, Pennsylvania sometime around 1741.
They had two children that I know of, Valentin Schuller who was born about 1736, and Anna Margaret Shuler who was born 7-1-1741.

Franz was a fraktur artist, a profession inherited by his son and grandsons. I think he may have learned this from his father in Germany.

I have TONS of info about Franz's descendents that I'd be willing to share with any fellow researcher.

Please contact me at shuleram@msu.edu if you have any information pertaining to this family.

Thank you,
Amanda Shuler
