Hello! You cleared up some mysteries and opened up a few!

So Peter Schuller came back to the US with Gus in 1922. They lived in PA. But then Gus went back to Europe? because its listed that he arrived in 1928 at age 17. It must be then that he traveled back to Butte MT to find his mother, Elizabeth. I wonder if she had any letters from him for all those years. The story was that Peter said he'd take Gus out for a new pair of shoes but he never returned. This was in Butte and Gus was a young child. His brother Joe was too young to take.

So then Elizabeth married Otto in 1919 in Helena. He's in the 1920 and 1930 (in Los Angeles) censuses as her husband. I don't know what happened to that marriage because she moved back to Butte, MT and he wasn't with her and no one knew about it. or at least my mom didn't. she was born in 1925 so she was small and people may have not talked about things like that to her, but she was very close to her when she was older.

Good to clear up the confusion between William and Peter. Peter was Elizabeth's father's name so it had been plausible. We always thought William was born in 1901, April 30. I wonder why/how that difference came about.

And Gus lied about his age for his marriage. Strange.

I'll call my mom later and tell her the latest news.

I first researched our family history back in the 1970s before there were computers. I used the library micro film and wrote a lot of letters. I thought I'd found out everything, but you really discovered a lot!! Thanks so much!

We have a cousin, Volker, in Germany who found out a lot about the Yager/Jager branch and some info about Peter Schuller.

Thanks again!
