Looking for information on Franz Frederich Schulte, born June 24, 1827 in Hanover, Germany. Married Hilke Harms Gerdes on May 17, 1856 in Medina County, Texas. Children were: Anna Katherina Schulte, born March 23, 1858; Franz Christian Schulte, born September 06, 1859; Engelina Schulte, born July 01, 1861; Johann Heinrich Schulte, born November 01, 1863; Orlando Ehme Schulte, born November 22, 1865; Maria Schulte, born August 17, 1868 and Johann Wilhelm Schulte, born January 30, 1877. There is some speculation within the family that the last child may not be Franz' son! Franz appears in the 1860 Medina county census (as Frank Schulter) and in the 1870 census (as Frank Schulte). Family legend suggests that he went to San Antonio, Texas, Arizona or even prison! Certainly there are no graves marked with his name that can be located in Medina county. Any information would be appreciated.
