Hi Julie,
I'm not sure whether I can help you or not. My ex-husband's name is Thomas Schuur. His grandfather's name was Ben Schuur. Ben Schuur is buried at the German Reform Church Cemetery in German Valley, Stephenson County, IL. There was an Albert Schuur in Ben's family. We called him Uncle Albert. There was also a man we called Uncle Weiman. All of these Schuurs lived in the Freeport/Pecatonica, IL area. Some of Ben's children also lived in the S. Wisconsin area. Ben was married to a woman named Alyce Sweep/Schweep. I never met her, as she died before Tom and I were married. Some of Ben's children's names were:
Harry, Marvin Jim, Alyce, Verna, "Bud", and can't remember the rest of them, but there were more. If you think this is a connection for you, I can get ahold of my daughter who still lives in Pecatonica, IL and she can talk to her grandfather (Marvin Jim) to see what she can find out from him.
Hope this helps you.
Judy Ingram Schuur
