The name that I am looking for is spelled:
SCHWEFEL but coming into the USA the name was slightly changed to SCHWAFEL.
Originally came from Germany-Polish or Prussia boarder, went to Russia on the Volga in the Samara or Baku area on the Caspian Sea, then came to the USA in 1913 exiting on a ship called the Dominion out of London.
Now, it is possible a slight misspelling of a "g" instead of a "f" could have happened.
Does any of this sound familiar?
