Dear Stephen,

I am actually from Germany and if you are from the Többe branch, we probably are distant relatives. However, this could be very distant, as the chronic my aunt made goes back to about AD 900.
My father is and grandfather was called Bernhard Maria Schwegmann and my grandfather's father's first name was Friedrich. They came pretty much straight from the village Schwege in Niedersachsen where some of my father's great-cousins still live. There was a rule that only the oldest son inherited the estate and the others were paid out and had to make their own way.
I have not gotten a hold of my family tree from my aunt, but want to do so very soon. We could compare notes, if you like and possibly find out the connection.
