You might be interested to know that the Schwegmann name was given to all labourers on the farm near Bramsche in Germany. As it was a community, most people were related on the farm. In earlier times many people took on other surnames when they moved away.

I too have Schwegmann in my family and I believe they were quite a close knit community.
