I've been trying to trace my Scofield lineage backwards and have hit a brick wall. My 2nd great grandpa was Andrew Jesse Scofield born abt. 1836 in New Jersey. His father's name was Sylvester according to info in county history book. His mother was Christigann ?? and is found in Rochester, Millbrook Twp, Peoria Co., IL in 1850 census with my 2nd great grandpa and one other child, Mary Frances Scofield born 1842-43 in IL who later married Aaron Elson in Peoria. They are again living in same area in 1860 census. Christigann is not found afterwards.

Sylvester Scofield had sister Angeline Curtis Scofield who married William Ackley. I have a photo of her and her husband and have found their graves in Marshall Co., IA. She was born 1819 in New York. Her father is supposed to be Jesse Scofield born 1784 Marathon, Cortland Co, NY and died 1842.

I need more information about Jesse Scofield's family and would like more details about Sylvester Scofield who married Christigann ??, and I would like to know more about Christigann ??. I suspect he died sometime between 1842 and 1850 but don't know for sure.

Any information is extremely helpful. Thanks!!
