Arthur Scofield

I am looking for info on my great-grandfather Arthur Scofield. Here is the info that I have:

On the 1930 census, it says that he was born in Illinois. He was listed as a mixed blood. It said that his father was a mixed blood and that his mother was Choctaw Indian. He was born in 1889. He was living in Fort Towson, Oklahoma as of 1930. He was married to my great-grandmother Agnes (Mitchell) Scofield. The family story is that he grew up in an orphanage. I think that it might have been in the Goodland Academy in Goodland, Oklahoma. He left the family when my grandmother, Christine, was 4 (around 1934) and was never heard from again. My hunch is that he headed off the California. According to the census, he was married before he married my great-grandmother.

If anyone has ANYTHING on him, please share!
