The James Franklin Houston buried in the corn field grave Appears to be my great great grandfather - His son James Franklin Houston the 3rd & family members shows up in a census Rockwall Texas not far away. I am not sure but feel that the wife buried in the corn field was not his first wife- I am working on this in ancestry web site -Houston/Mann tree If anyone knows anything about Matthew Houston from North Carolina (blount co) who originally may have come from VA which is stated as the farm ( Sam Houstons wife took her family to stay until their home was built after Sam Died)It looks like that Matthew would be James 1's father as I have followed the line & in possibly a Lyle family book a statement was said about Matthews son James(1)& Grandson also named James(2)that grandson born 1818 and I am 99 1/2 % certain he is the one buried in the corn field grave yard in Hillsboro Texas. He had several children one being my great grand father James b 1860 or 1861 (3) who married Emma Ellzey and continued on to Oklahoma and then back to California and died in 1934 or 1935 James F. Houston b. Sep. 7, 1818 d. Jun 24, 1884 Bettie Ann Houston b. Jul. 12, 1825 d. Nov. 29, 1889 "wife of James F. Houston" Notify Administrator about this message?
