The DAR listing has Silas Bennett married 01 Nov 1787 to Sarah Scofield. Sarah and Silas had a daughter named Ann Bennett who married Wright Reynolds. The DAR requires future applicants in this line to fully document because this ancestor's record may not meet current DAR requirements for the service and/or the lineage. That means current genealogists may have found problems with the previously submitted documents.[Note: Sarah also had a sister named Anna Scofield b: ca. 1775]

Sarah may be the daughter of Michael Scofield (1741 CT-1786 NY) and Anna Lockwood (1739 CT - ?). See http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=gen1775&id=I10418.

Michael Scofield served as a private in the 3rd + 4th Reg. Weschester Co, NY Militia. Michael Scofield was the son of Ebenezer Scofield (1713 CT-1789 NY) and Mary Smith (1713 CT-bef 8/17/1757). [Ebenezer'a Aunt Hannah Scofield (1716-1760) married Edmund5 Lockwood (Daniel4, Edmund3, Edmund2, Edmund1). So this line was cousin to the Edmund Lockwood family.

Anna or Annah6 Lockwood (Reuben5, Joseph4, Edmund3, Edmund2, Edmund1) was a daughter of Reuben Lockwood (b: 15 DEC 1715 CT) and Sarah Camp (b: ABT 1717) See Jay Harris, God's Country, A history of PoundRidge, NY, 465. Capt. Reuben Lockwood served in the Westchester NY Militia.
