I'm beginning to believe something a relative once told me. They said anyone with the last name Sconiers, Sconyers, or any other derivative is family. I am a great grand daughter of Ersa Sconiers in Buffalo, NY. She was originally from Alabama, and moved to New York in the 1930's with my Great Grandfather William Guilford. They had three sons before her untimely death (from tuberculosis) at the age of 31yrs. Their names were William Guilford, Jr., Norris Guilford, and Melvin Guilford. My aunt Vestula kept them connected to the Sconiers after Ersa's death.
I remember hearing the story of Sophie Simmons and William Alexander. She named her two sons King. I am a decendent of King Solomon. The name of the other King, I can't recall at the moment. I remember reading the information at my mothers' home several years ago, From Sophie Simmon, all the way up to the clan that meets bi-annualy in Alabama for a family reunion. Unfortunately, I have never been to a family reunion. My uncle Norris use attend them regularly. No one in my immediate family has ever been. Would anyone have any information on the family reunions? Now that I have children of my own, I would love to expose them to our rich family heritage. My thanks to whomever started this forum.
