can you tell me the orgins of your last name, Sconiers, my reason for asking is that my ancestors where from that area, Daleville,Al. My ancestors that where from that area were William Sconiers (Sconyers)who was born abt 1780-1790 and James Sconiers who born abt 1810. James married abt 1830 Elizabeth (nickname Polly)Bird(Byrde)(Byrd)and they had their first kid John Jackson Sconiers abt 1831. We are probably are not related but must share some history. My ancestors later moved on to DeFuniaks Springs, Walton County, Florida btwn 1840-1850. Most of my immediate family still live there.
Sconiers's listed in the 1830 census for Dalville, Alabama were William the oldest (my ancestor), James, James who had wife and no children at that date (my ancestor), and Allen Sconiers.
