Cherokee Scrimsher

John Scrimsher and William Scrimsher are on the 1817
Emigration Roll of the Cherokee. In the 1833/4 valuation
of William's property on Dry Creek in Tennessee it was
noted "Gone some years ago".

These are sons of Robert Scrimsher (of 1790 Pendleton
District, SC p.85) and an unknown Cherokee woman.
His neighbors include many names familiar in Cherokee
genealogy: John Kelly, Jacob West, Ellis Harlan, Ezekiel
Buffington, and others.

Elisha Moore (b.c.1765 NC d.1854 Yalobusha Co, MS) married
Elizabeth "Skrimshire" on his way through Pendleton District
so I am guessing she's a daughter of Robert as well (supported
in the 1790 census). Descendants of this Elisha report
Cherokee blood.

Just thought I'd post this here for any lost soul passing
