Hi there. I don't know if we're connected however, on my searches I have encountered a William Roper Scrimshaw from Cambridgeshire, the Wisbech district, where my Scrimshaws are from. Many Scrimshaws came from that area - Leverington in particular - and I am probably connected to most of them but don't know how as yet!

This William Roper Scrimshaw can be found in the 1851 census records on and can be followed up more closely through the actual census records. Do you have membership to I could have a look in there for you if you're interested and don't have a subscription.
