Dear Elizabeth I've been trying to find some more information for you on my Granddad's parents George Scrimshaw and Louisa Russell. Having hunted over the internet for most of the evening I've found a mention of their wedding at http://www.gumnut.net/scrimshaw/content/other/source/marrinfo/marriages.htm which reads as follows Surname First name(s) District Vol Page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages Jun 1899 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reynolds George Wisbech 3b 1318 Russell Louisa Wisbech 3b 1318 Scrimshaw George Wisbech 3b 1318 Tuck Catherine Mary Wisbech 3b 1318 I don't know who George Reynolds and Catherine Mary Tuck are, would they be the witnesses? At least we know they were married in June 1899. I also found a mention of a George Scrimshaw born in 1875 who's father was Frederick George Scrimshaw of Newton Cambridge, as William Roper Scrimshaw, Head, Mar, 55, Farmer 110 Acres, Born Leverington CAM had a son called Frederick George is it possible that my great grandfather was the grandson of William Roper Scrimshaw, Head, Mar, 55, Farmer 110 Acres, Born Leverington CAM? Have you any idea where the 'Roper' comes from? Well, as it's early in the morning I ought to get some sleep! Bye for now Ruth Notify Administrator about this message?
