Funeral services for Eva Mae Keenan, 85, of Sweetwater will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Marvin Keenan and Mike Ensminger officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Keenan died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab in Sweetwater.
She was born Jan. 9, 1925 in Quanah, TX. She married Marvin T. “Darty” Keenan on Dec. 25, 1945, in Vernon, TX. She was a member of Normandy Avenue Church of Christ. She lived in Sweetwater since 1950. Mrs. Keenan was a Licensed Vocational Nurse working as director of nurses at the Loraine Nursing Home for several years. She also worked at the Simmons Memorial Hospital in various capacities for several years.
She worked for over 60 years total in nursing.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Keenan and wife JoAnne of Sweetwater; one daughter, Elizabeth Little and husband Harold of Sweetwater; five grandchildren, Lance Little and wife Christy of Sweetwater, Delinda Arzate and husband Mark of Hawaii, Shelly Keenan of Big Spring, Roy Keenan and wife Nikole of Carrollton and Angela Fletcher of McKinney; three sisters, Mildred Brandon of Vernon, Rose Dawson of Midland and Opal Scroggins of Arlington; three brothers, Joe Scroggins of Watauga, James Scroggins of Desoto and Norman Scroggins of Lakeside; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Darty” Keenan on Nov. 7, 2000; a son Harold Keenan on Oct. 8, 2007; three brothers, L.W. Scroggins, Orval Scroggins and Lyndon Scroggins; and two sisters, Myrtle Pauline Scroggins and Lois Marie Scroggins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
