Fay Scroggins Passes Away
Fay Scroggins, 69, passed away early Saturday morning at his home in Valley Springs following a short illness.
Mr. Scroggins came to this area in 1940, and has since worked as a stationary-engineer on a number of projects. A native of Arkansas, he was born Jan. 30. 1885. Before coming to California, he had resided for 10 years in Idaho, where he was an engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad.
Mr. Scroggins was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Scroggins of Valley Springs; two sons, Jim Scroggins, with the Army in France, and Tom Scroggins of Stockton; and a daughter, Gladys Scroggins of Visalia. A brother, Herbert Scroggins of Tulsa, Okla., also survives.
Funeral service will be held at 7 o’clock Thursday evening from the East-Pine Funeral Home Chapel.
Entombment will follow in the Lodi Memorial Mausoleum.
