Scully & Davitt sailing to America 1880?

My brother insists that a relative once told him of a story about our James Francis Davitt, who pulled the shortest straw and therefore had to kill the English landlord.

He then sailed to Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. with a man named Scully around 1880.

I'm trying to find out where in Ireland my ancestor was from.
