Dear H. C. Kirk,
I have another Sculley sibling for you. Anna (or Nancy Anna) was born in New Glasgow, Quebec, in 1842. Her death certificate in the Isabella, MI, County Courthouse says that her parents were James Sculley and Mary Mullen. Anna married William Battle in New Glasgow in 1862. This information is in her obituary. William Battle is probably a first cousin to Winifred Battle who married Edward Scully, Anna's brother. William is a son of Martin Battle and Mary McLean Battle. Martin and Winifred's father James are most likely brothers or at least first cousins since they emigrated together, settled at New Glasgow together, and later James' son James and William ended up in Vernon Twp., Isabella Co., Michigan quite near each other.
If you are researching the Ste Sophie records again, will you watch for any information on Anna Sculley and William Battle? They left for Vermont soon after their marriage so the marriage record and Anna Sculley's baptismal record are probably all that is there. On second thought, Anna's baptismal record undoubtedly is not there since I know from my Battle research that Ste Sophie's was not built until the early 1850's. In 1842, St. Lin was probably the closest Catholic Church to New Glasgow.
If you have found out any more about the Scully's, please let me know. Anna was my 2nd great-grandmother. Her obit says that she was survived by 4 brothers and one sister, so there is at least one brother that is not names on your list.
