SCOLLAY/SCULLEY of Ontario from Mass.

I am trying to find the parents of a group of Scollay men, in Michigan, in the late 1800's.

Abel Scollay was born about 1829, in Canada. I have him in the 1870 Lexington, Sanilac County, Michigan Census, and the 1880 Hersey, Osceola County, Michigan Census. The 1880 census states that his father was born in Mass. and his mother on Conn. Abel married Abigail Bateman.

Grover Scollay was born about 1839, in Ontario, Canada. I have located him in the 1880 Argyle Twp., Sanilac County, Mich. census. This census has his father born in Mass. and his mother in New York. The Ontario birth listing comes from a birth entry for his son. Abel married Anna E.(_), about 1868, possibly in New York.

About the same time that Abel and Grover were in Sanilac County, a Robert Scollay appears there.

I have Robert Scollay purchasing land in Michigan in 1856, and Grover purchasing land there, in 1882.

Any help in connecting these gentlemen to their parents and/or siblings would be appreciated.

Susan Blair
