Mary Beth, It's me again. Did you ever see my posting re Catherine Davitt "davitts from mayo". Seeing this posting triggered some interest because my g-father's middle name was Francis (henry f. davitt)and my dad's middle name was Francis(william f. davitt) .My g-father's brother wasJames(also Patrick and Michael) My g-father was born 1867 in mayo somewhere .The 1900 census indicates he came to US in 1880.You seem to be deeply involved so I would appreciate any help in trying to locate where in mayo they came from.THANKS,Bill. ps My g-fathers deathcertificate shows my gg-grandfather as henry davitt, gg-grandmother as Mary Skiffington.
