Lieut. james scully was wounded at Cemetery Ridge near Petersburg on July 30 1864, brought to Officers' Hospital on Bedloe Island NY August 18 he asked to be transferred to Officers' Hospital in Philadelphia as "my family reside there". Approved August 24. He was born in Tipperary town in 1837, parents Richard Scully and Johanna Luby. Brothers were Rodolf, Richard, George and sisters Maria and Ellen.
George was definitely in America also possibly others. Anyone know of a Scully family in Philadelphia in 1864 ?
