I have seen queries from time to time about scullys in Galway so perhaps this might be of interest. Roger Scully, b. 1758 in Dualla Co Tipp 13th child of Roger Scully and Mary Maher, m. 1798 to Elizabeth Curley d. of Patrick Curley of Galway went to farm there. He d. 1828 she died 1831. Issue son James . He m. c. 1825 to Sarah ? issue Roger 1826 Jeremiah 1828 Mary 1831 Catherine 1838. ASll popular Scully names. Griffith's Valuation shows only 2 Jams Scullys in Co Galway, one in Kilcummin parish, townland Carrownamanagh, and another in Killeenadeema parish Derrybrien East and north. The second looks a good farm. Any one recognise any name there ? The Scully family tree loses track of them after that.
