Christopher;
I think you are close to the location but I have NOTHING on where in Ireland he came from parent names nothing other than his name (William Buntin) his wifes (Mary) and their first childs name (Robert) who was born in Ireland (all others born in Scotland)and that based on birth of childern they left Ireland to go to Scotland between 1848-1850. since this directory is 2-4 years after they left I can not make a connection BUT this is good information.

The 1852 Directory of Belfast and the Province of Ulster lists four Scullys in Belfast.

Scully, Andrew, 5, North Boundary Street
Scully, Simeon (that might be Simon), engineer, 2, Cargill Street
Scully, Shannon and Holmes, plumbers, 12, Talbot Street
Scully, Thomas, pensioner, 5, Meetinghouse Lane
