Hello, Maureen.
Edmund Scully and Marianne O'Brien of Tipperary had two sons who emigrated to Ontario some time in 1830's. They were Denis Jeremiah born 1814 and John O'Brien born 1816.
Denis (usually known as Jerry) was a customs official in Sarnia was married to Hannah McFaul and secondly to Catherine Corrigan. I have all his descendants up to the 1920's. John, who I assume must be your Great grandfather, was married to Maria Ellice in Wellington in 1840 but I have no information about any descendants. John died in Toronto in 1876 and his occupation was given as Railway Official. You are correct about the Scully Kilfeacle connection. Edmund was one of seven sons of James Scully of Kilfeacle, born 1779. This line goes back to 1571 if you are interested. If this information agrees with what you know I should be very pleased to know about John's family. When my grandfather John Scully was compilng a list in 1927 of all the Scully descendants of Roger Scully (1713-1785) he knew there must be some in Canada but couldn't locate them.
Anthony McCan.
