My dear cousin, Patrick!
What a lovely surprise to see your post here. I have been doing some research on our family. I have found out that our Great Grandfather was Thomas Curran Scully. He was born in Ireland on May 30, 1852. He came to the United States possibly in 1873. I don't know who his parents or siblings were... yet. He married Mary Ann Trainor circa 1877. Their first child, Charles, was born in 1878. Mary Ann's parents were James and Ann Trainor. Her siblings were *Ellen*, Lizzie (Elizabeth?), Margaret, and James Jr. Some of the other children of Thomas and Mary Ann were: Thomas Joseph., Genevieve (Jenny), Anna May, and our grandfather Francis Xavier. Thomas C died in 1911. Mary Ann died in 1933.

I am still working on finding out where exactly Thomas C. was from in Ireland. The family thought County Cork, but I've seen a record which states that he was born in County Kildare. If I get new info, I'll let you know, if you'd like.

** Robin,
Perhaps this is the Ellen Trainor in your lineage. She would've been about 47 in 1903. It's possible that she married - Braden, then Joseph Scully. Who knows? As you said, the Irish tend to have a lot of the same names throughout. Sorry to follow up with Patrick on your original post.

-Andrea
