Leo Clayton Scully, 57, of Alamo, California, formerly of Slayton, Minnesota, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at his home in Alamo. He was the son of LaVerne and Franklin “Speed” Scully and grew up in Slayton. He graduated from Slayton High School in 1968. He graduated from Mankato State University in 1973. On August 19, 1973, he and Bonnie Post of Sioux Falls, South Dakota were married at Carmel-by-the Sea, California. Both he and Bonnie worked in telecommunication in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Culver City, California, and San Francisco, for 28 years and retired in 2000. Leo enjoyed golf, fishing, sports, and poker with his friends. They traveled to many tropical countries until ALS restricted his activities. He accepted this condition with courage and a positive attitude and was an inspiration for others.

Leo is survived by his wife Bonnie; mother LaVerne, Slayton; brothers: Mark (Deb) Scully, Ramsey, MN; Michael (Carolyn) Scully, Richmond, MN; two sisters: Kathleen (Owen) Smith, Centennial, CO; Gail (Gerald) Hoffmann, Bloomington, MN; mother-in-law Gerry Post, Sioux Falls, SD and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life was held at Creekside Community Church in Alamo, CA on April 5, 2008 with Pastor Nick Vlelsides officiating.
