Hello, Barbara and Bob,
The mention of Maxwell Scully and of a Scully tree going back to 1570 suggests to me that these are descendants of James Daniel Scully of Gilliardstown House, Co. Westmeath and Mary Maxwell who married 1840. James was a barrister who lived in Dublin and died 1882. I haven't a complete list of their children but they all carried Maxwell as a second name and there may have been an Elizabeth Maxwell Scully amongst them. There was certainly an Elizabeth Maxwell Scully born 1886 in the next generation but that's too late for your Elizabeth. This family has a well-authenicated tree going back to 1571.
Tell me what you know of their arrival in the U.S. and we may be able to make a connection. After all, there can't ave been too many Maxwell Scullys around.
Anthony McCan
