Hi, Barbara and others. I continue to be intrigued with this story of a Vincent Scully and his wife Elizabeth Maxwell Scully.
My mother was a Scully and passed on to me the family tree which goes back to a James Scully born on 12 April 1571, by no means rudimentary in her version of it.
According to it the first Scully/Maxwell connection was when James Daniel Scully, a Solicitor in Dublin, married Mary Maxwell in 1840.Their son Jerome Maxwell Scully married Elizabeth M.A. Strong in !880. They lived in Clontarf,Dublin, and had children Mary Vera, Kathleen Mary,
James Daniel, Anna Maria and Vncent Jerome Aylmer.
James Daniel lived in Clontarf until his death in 1945 The other son Vincent was born August 3 1888. Of him I knw nothing apart from the fact hat he is missng from the 1911 census. Had he emigrated ? Have you any BMD dates for him ? Aylmer, by the way, was the Maiden name of a great grandmother. Is it possible that this Vincent was the Vincent you say worked for the family in Newport ?
