I have about 400 Scutt events in Pulborough and is the most prolific town for Scutt’s in the British Isles. The first mention of a Scutt there is circa 1550.
As regards West Chiltington I have details from 1662 up to the present day.
West Sussex has about a 85% coverage where the IGI is concerned, though many other counties are as low as 15%.
IGI has, as regards the Scutt surname, a fault factor of about 2% whereby half is a simple mixing of dates, ie 8 instead of an 3 or Jun for Jan.
