Fine. Thank you James. You obviously know more about the Scutts than I do but then it is only conjecture that they are in my line.
On the subject of IGI coverage, I'm sure you are right re the whole of West Sussex. However, note that an arttcle in the Sussex Family Historian of June 2001 noted in a search around Billingshurst and Shipley that of 20 parishes, only five were fully covered by the IGI, six partially recorded and nine not included at all. That's a lot poorer than your 85% overall.
