Death certificates in South Dakota began mid-1905, so, yes, there should be certificates available from the Register of Deeds of the county, or from the Dept. of Health, 600 East Capitol, Pierrre, SD 57501 2536.

The W.P.A. records showing basic data about burials are available from the State Historical Library. See the current message on GenForum > SD. I don't think they are indexed by person's name, just those buried in each cemetery.
