In the Beresford, South Dakota centennial (1984) book on p. 234 it says: "Matthew Birgen emigrated from Luxenberg, Europe to Honey Creek, Wisconsin and in 1878 came to Dakota Territory with his parents Michael and Elizabeth Decker Birgen." (Biography of Mathew and Elizabeth Birgen) Good Luck! Ron Johnson
