Rene', To Follow up on Barb, I'll reiterate that Kranzburg was/is a Luxemburg community. I've lived in Watertown, 9 miles west of Kranzburg. I belonged to Watertown Regional Genealogical Society. I have photos of all the gravestones in Codington County, which of course includes the Kranzburg Holy Rosary Cemetery. But more importantly, ladies of the WRGS have created a database with a vast amount of information. Here is a link to the database, of which you would be mostly interested in clicking on the "Holy Rosary Cem". http://watweb.sdln.net/cemeteries.htm Personally, I grew up in Miner County, near Howard, SD. Although not known as a Luxemburg community, there have been a number of Luxemburgers in Miner Co, maybe more to the south part down to Epiphany area, just inside Hanson County. Finally, and most importantly to me, my great-grandmother came from Luxemburg. Her father was Nicholas Forret(various spellings), who had originally come from France. But her mother(Margaret Falen) was originally from Lux. We have not yet found out just where the Forrets lived in Lux, but my gr-grandfather, Nicholas Feller was a farmer from Puttelange les Thionville, the town being 2 miles from the border. I have more I'd like to discuss, but this is enough here. Notify Administrator about this message?
