I have just been informed the Axel and Charles Larson's father, Lars Eric Jansson/Johnson/Larson has shown up in a selected name survey of burials at Rosalia Cemetery and an older cemetery across the road from the Rosalia Cemetery in Kansas. A volunteer wrote that he is "Lars Larsen." I replied, asking if the -en spelling is actually in the records, since -en is generally in Norwegian names, not Swedish. However, there is no indication that Lars's wife Anna Charlotta "Charlotte" is buried there. Our family records say she died at Hill Head, South Dakota, on 27 Jan 1920. How could I find out where she is buried? Can anyone direct me to death/burial records, maybe cemetery inscriptions, or obituaries? Census records might help, but I think her residence may have been in Kansas, at least until her husband Lars's death in 1907. Do any local history books mention Charlotte? Her name in Swedish and family records is Anna Charlotta Jansson. She was born 16 Oct 1831 in Bo Parish, Orebro, Sweden. Her son Axel Ludvig Larson lived in both Day County and Marshall County. I don't know if she might have lived with another son or daughter in South Dakota after 1907. Her son Charles Henning Larson lived in Lake Norden SD after 1907. Her daughter Sophie was married to Axel W. Lundeen in Britton SD on 20 Jul 1907. I don't know if Britton is near Hill Head, or if the Lundeen family moved to Hill Head at some later time. I would appreciate any information that might lead to the discovery of where Charlotte Larson/Johnson is buried. You may contact me by email at pekarekr@ties2.net Thanks for helping me to solve this puzzle and to discover how to research in South Dakota. Notify Administrator about this message?
