SD Births, online, Kingsbury County:
Charles MATHEWS & Susan SWEENEY had Lora, b. 6 Sep. 1895.
James MATHEWS & Teresa MURPHY had son _, b. 2 Jan. 1906.
Edward MATTHEWS & Mary MURPHY had Mary, b. 25 Aug. 1901.
Edward MATTHEWS & Josephina MURPHY had son _, b. 25 Je. 1908.

Census of 1910, Kingsbury Co., SD, MATHEWS:
Edward J., 45; Josephine {a?}, 25; Charles T., 62; Arthur J., 11; Margeret, 9; Edward, 6; Frances, 2.
[It looks as if Josephina was a new wife, possibly a younger sister of Mary in 1901, but it looks as if the daughter Mary had become Margaret, and Frances should probably have the male spelling Francis.]

MATHEWS: Charles J., 49; Kate E., 40; & Thomas F., 42, were in one household.

The BLM site has many land patents in Kingsbury County for MATHEWS: Charles, Charles C., Charles J; Edward J., John E., & Thomas, all in Township 109 - 56 (south of DeSmet, west of Lake Thompson), & elsewhere in Kingsbury County, Patrick, Ransom, & Robert.

Death certificates began in South Dakota mid-1905, so you should be able to find death certificates, which are supposed to name the parents of the deceased.
