Dear Eilis O'Hara: My apologies for my previous "clan" statement written in my earlier text. My husband and I were in Ireland last month to visit the country and to begin our search. We visited with a gentleman from Middleton, Co. Cork, Mr. Patrick O'Donovan, who referred to their family reunions as the "O'Donovan clan get together." I in no means meant this as a demeaning comment. We tried to search records in the National Library in Dublin and came to a dead end. They suggested we reserch more from our records in the US, and that is what we are trying to do now. Thank you for all of the helpful information you gave us. We are new at this, my husband is adopted, his biological grandmother is a Donovan, and he is trying to trace his roots. From his grandmother's records, the family originated in Southern Ireland, around the Kealkill area, and left from that area when they came to America. Thank you again for all the information you gave us, and we will keep trying. Sincerely, Karen Busch Notify Administrator about this message?
