Thanks again. We checked records of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ethan, Davison County, South Dakota where Ellen (Sullivan Donovan and her husband Daniel K and their three sons died but there was no clue to Ireland in the church records. Her obituary said only that she was from County Cook. There might be records in Galena, Jo Daviess County, Illinois where they raised their children or in the Homestead (Land patent) records.

Hi Marilyn,

Yes, it's going through the list of genealogy sources to find out the town/townland, civil parish and county where they're born in Ireland. And if there's no information in one record, it means going on to the next record.

I notice you mention Daniel with a "K", do you have a record that shows that as his initial?

Ellen might have left a will including relations in Ireland.

Regards.

Eilis O'Hara
