Thank you so very much for this information! I will share it with other members of my family. I descend from Edward Garland Dorsey, my g-grandfather and the son of Camilla Seabrook and Washington Dorsey, through his daughter (Sallie) Peachie Dorsey (Booker), my paternal grandmother. He was a pharmacist in Halifax, VA, and one of my family still owns the building in which his business was located - it presently houses a nice small restaurant, and the walls are decorated with old pharmacy records dating back to my g-grandfather's day. My grandmother had two brothers and two surviving sisters: Archer Edmondson Dorsey and Edward Garland Dorsey, Jr, and (Mary) Garland Dorsey and Camilla ("Cammie") Seabrook Dorsey (Gates). Their mother was Mary Johnson Edmondson, daughter of Maj. (Henry) Archer Edmondson (CSA). They lived in Halifax County, VA.

Edward Garland Dorsey and his wife and children are all buried in the St John's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Halifax - and the church has posted their resting place on its website. I do not have the URL handy, but you might want to surf for it - the family plot is surrounded with an iron fence (recently repainted by two of my cousins) and is adjacent to the church.

I will have to look up dates if you need them. Please let me know what other information you are interested in. Thank you again for sharing this long-sought information about Camilla.
