I have discovered a bit of an interesting bit of info I am helping someone might be able to embelish for me.
One of my ancestors John Seabrook had a brother called William who was born at Stoke nr Guildford in Surrey in either 1795 or 1809. He married a lady by the name of Susan/Susannah and they had numerous children mostly born in Guildford and later Chelsea, however the did have one daughter Charlotte who was born in Van Diemans Land (Tasmania) around 1830. The children on either side of her who were born in Guildford Surrey were born in 1827 (John) and 1835 (Thomas) respectively.
I have the father of John and William as Thomas Seabrook (not proven yet). We do not know where he was born at this stage. There may also have been a sister Ann b1806 but I do not know her married name. John was a locksmith and William was a pastry cook. William's wife Susan was born in Devonport (I do not know which Devonport).
The only other bit of information we do know - although it is a family story not proven - was that there was an Irish connection for these Seabrooks.
Does any of this fit in with anything that anyone else knows about the Tasmanian Seabrooks? I have no idea why the family or at least Susan when to Tasmania for a period.
